DOMINO: [ROGUE] "Thanks, Dom - … snip… Might be bettah ta practice with it first, in a smaller, more low-key type of trainin' session, Ah fear."
Well, that was the irony when it came to Domino’s luck, or so she’d come to terms with, low-key situations didn’t exactly get them all riled up and firing. They were the ultimate preservationalist fail safe… and as a result the more dangerous the situation the more handy they turned out to be.
Tam could appreciate the conundrum for someone who hadn’t lived with them as long as she had; the easiest way to sum it up to people she’d found – in the few instances she’d felt like doing so – was that they were like the Jump Program in the “Matrix’ movie. You just had to commit, do the damn thing, make the jump, and trust that the impossible would make itself possible. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit.
Your loss, she thought to herself. When you bite it from falling flat on your face, don’t blame me.
Napoleon Frost lent her approval and support to the plan that Tamara had suggested, but offered the caveat of not dismissing that the opposition, specifically Talon, likely also had a familiarity with Sun Tzu.
“I’m actually counting on exactly that,” she replied with a small sense of pride. “That’s why she’ll likely do the exact opposite of what Logan… or myself… would do. That being the more direct approach - right down the pipe, kick the front door in, and smash & grab.”
Dom propped a palate up against the wall and began kicking out the struts to lighten them for lifting purposes, but also to gain additional planking. She moved quickly and with purpose, repeating the task with another palate… and another…. and another, until their supply had been exhausted. From there she jumped upward, rather impressively hanging like a primate from the overhang that created a pseudo-scaffolding to the windows. Moving down the line, Tamara hefted the lightened palates up on top of the overhang, then walked hand-over-hand the length of one side and then the other replicating.
[PYRO] “Right … so we get 'em coming after the damn flag-thing, then I light up the building and trap 'em inside? That's how you want to play this?”
Tam, now perched nimbly on the overhang of piping, couldn’t help but chuckle silently as she wedged a palate up to first window. There wasn’t anyone particular on the other squad – well, maybe one, but she had that bloody nasty habit of regenerating seared flesh – who she particularly wanted to see put through their own personal Hades, but still the prospect was a tad amusing is a perverse sort of way.
“Don’t you fret your hot little head, Pyro,” she chirped back. “We’ll get you plenty an opportunity to make Smokey the Bear roll over in his grave. But we’re playing chess here… not checkers. No one single plan is going to guarantee success, but I’d say reenacting Backdraft is probably out of the question.”
Having completed the securing of palates to the first side of windows – all properly wedged into place so as to divert light as best as possible down where wall met floor and away from the center of the room, Domino surmised that there was need for the added struts – in a cross-hatch formation – to further increase the dimness. Wolfsbane had come in, but darn it all if Rahne hadn’t already gone lupine. Nevertheless, it gave Tamara a perfectly good excuse to engage the striking British nymph.
“Jayne, do be a dear and hand up that stack of loose boards, would you?” she chimed from a squatted position just overhead from Scamper’s position in the room. “And while I’m venturing requests, do try to avoid taking fire out there. You’re terribly more attractive without holes through you or severe skull trauma.”
10.. 9.. 8..7…6..5..4..3..2..1… Danger Room Session.. Engaged…
Oh goodie!
And moments later loud BOOMs were heard on the exterior; not explosions per say but rather those of impact, specifically heavy wooden somethings impacting the hard ground.
“If those are what I think they are… that is unless Henry’s managed to rig a catapult to hurl the industrial equipment… perhaps our dear Mr. Pyro might like a bit of target practice. Buy our offensive unit a bit of a distraction to slip out the side before Talon and her little Mavericks come a’callin there, hmm?”

EPIPHANY: Emma watched Rahne move away like a whipped dog with a dispassionate eye. Rahne did care about the situation despite her protest. Emma didn't need empathy to know that. She was not sure if Rahne was acting out of friendship with Pyro, or if there was something deeper going on between the Scots girl and the terribly damaged Australian. If Rahne did have a crush of sorts on St John, she knew taht would end in tears. St John had more issues regarding his sexuality than Rock Hudson and Tom Cruise combined.
But this was no time to psychoanalyze the members of her team. The exercise had begun. Emma opened up the telepathic network to connect Excalibur's surface thoughts for rapid communication.
~*~Remember the plan. We send out our assault team in an open attempt to go for their flag. Then, when our opponents have committed to their attack upon us here, we pull back our assault team to catch them between our forces in a classic pincher attack.~*~
She smiled to herself and steeled herself for the coming action.
~*~Just remember this. Moltke the Elder said that no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy. Thanks to our rapid communications, however, we'll be able to react faster to changes. Just stay on your toes and do your best!~*~

TALON: Talon listened to Beast and Dryad's back and forth about the placement of everything she could not agree more with their tactics. Talon nodded to beast's assessment of her infiltrating the enemy's base.
"More than likely once Frost and Domino realize I am the you all will be given a chance to change up our strategy, into something they will not be expecting. Yet sounds will keep them not knowing where the assault is coming from. Hit and move, never the same place twice in as row from the same attacker."
Talon watched as Dryad continued to cover the windows, she turned to Paz when he blushed just after speaking Spanish, she was fluent in many tongues, but still liked it when both men and women blushed it gave a wide array of heat patterns and the body language was always remarkable.
"True enough Maremoto, they can but thankfully this is only big enough for one person to crawl through." Talon spoke as she started to unstrap weapons and pouches that would hinder her, only keeping what was most needed for her infiltration. Setting everything on the floor at her feet. "Once I am through, halfway, flood the tunnel, give me exactly 4 minutes to hit the half way mark, use as much force as you can. I can hold my breath for a while longer than most. Then as the water hits them I will likely come through the grate undetected, soaking wet but undetected."
Talon would have no way to let Maremoto know when she was through, he would just need to go on his best judgment.
"Beast, I can get through there in roughly 7.5 minutes, halfway through that count down he floods it. I can hold my breath for longer than that."
She told her leader, as she slipped into the small drainage piping and made her way to the enemy base. Hopefully someone would remember to replace he grate fully and refasten then screws, she inched her way through the piping seeing the light from the enemies floor drain. She knew at least two formidable enemies would be there in the room, Domino and Emma Frost.

MAREMOTO: 'Moto cocked an eyebrow as Dryad ran over to the vines without a second glance to him-- it didn't even seem she acknowledged the fact he help. Sure, they were short on time as the game already started, but still… a thank you would've been nice.
'Moto turned back to Talon. Flood the pipes in four minutes. Simple enough. Maremoto looked around the warehouse-- he'd used up two and a half barrels soaking the vines for Dryad. That left five and half for the pipes. Granted the barrels probably held… say, a bathtub amount of water? Maremoto wondered if he'd need more of the wet stuff to fill the pipes.
But before they executed it, there was still one part of this plan he didn't quite grasp.
"How will you get back?" he asked her.
The pipes would be flooded. She wouldn't be able to back track her way…
But just as he asked it, the answer came to him.
"I can pull the water out of the sewer and you can ride the current."
Maremoto imagined it, and it seemed it could work. If he pulled fast enough, the rush of the water would speed Talon up coming back through the tunnel; she could probably get back through in half the time it took to get there…
However, it all depended on if he'd fill the pipes or not. He knew the diameter of it, but not the length. Judging by what he saw in the beginning going to his teams' warehouse, the room was a couple hundred feet or so. He was probably going to need more water.
But he needed Talon's input first. "What do you think?" he asked quickly before she disappeared underground.

LIGHTNING: As soon as the game started, Miguel carried out his plan, which was not to try to hit the other opponents rather, it was to control their movements, thought he wasn't trying not to hit them either. He created a lightning fast -pun intended_ barrage of lightning bolts that were designed to prevent his opponents from running towards their side and flag. He was vaguely aware that people could try to sneak in under ground, but he simply could not be in two places at once, and had to trust his teammates.
Now Cloud, he was immeasurably aware of, as a rule of thumb, he never overlooked the seeming underdog. The rainmaker and he shared a certain similarity in the nature of their powers, so he wasn't surprised the guy could make lightning, although he didn't know how often. Although Beast, wasn't he the referee?- was pointing out strategies, his side was already counting on opposition.
"Rogue on your way to the flag how about you shut down Vulcan," She hoped she could see the danger in him improving Cloud's lightning. If the blond was playing duracell he could be unpredictable and switch back and forth between Jubilee and Cloud, the fireworks were obnoxious to begin with, but Gabriel was making them look like exploding suns.
He was glad that Pyro was going to be in the game, Could would have to be the one to protect his teammates from the fire bug.

ROGUE: ~*~ So, we go ta tha otha' warehouse, grab tha flag, an' then double back here when ya give tha signal? ~*~ Rogue thought, focusing on the link that Epiphany had opened up amongst Excalibur. As the team's deputy leader, Rogue didn't want to screw anything up.
Scamper's copied powers had activated within Rogue upon the moment they discontinued skin contact, which was when Rogue had put her gloves back on, and she was itching to 'play' with the newly borrowed TK.
Once Rogue had 'the Plan' sorted out, thanks to a little guidance from Epiphany, their Advisor, she nodded to Scamper and Lightning. They were outta there, and headed for the other team's warehouse, with Miguel acting as a 'shield' of sorts, arcing out lighting to ward off the other team.
Jubilee's Pafs were unavoidable - you couldn't help but notice them, and know them to be her unique-style - and they were vastly more impressive than normal… As they drew closer, Rogue saw that she was with Vulcan, who was likely using his powers to enhance Jubes' powers…
LIGHTNING: "Rogue on your way to the flag how about you shut down Vulcan,"
She wasn't quite certain what Miguel was saying to her… His whole sentence structure didn't make a lick of sense…
~*~ Huh? ~*~ she asked through the link that they shared thanks to Epiphany, an eyebrow raised quizzically, casting him a glance that showed her confusion. Her mind working as quickly as it could, on the fly, while also considering their strategy, decided that he meant for her to 'shut down' Vulcan on her way to retrieve the flag.
~*~ Oh, yes! You can fend off Jubilee, an' Ah can deal with Vulcan, an' Scamper can go on in all stealth-like an' git that flag… Ya up fer it, Sugah? ~*~ Rogue asked the telekinetic before they rushed head-first into battling their classmates.
If Cloud had joined Jubilee and Vulcan, Rogue wasn't aware of it. Unless, he was still inside the warehouse with the rest of the Mavericks.

Summary: ROGUE gets the Plan straight with EPIPHANY before heading out to the other team's warehouse with LIGHTNING and SCAMPER. She thinks it's a good idea to send Scamper into the other team's warehouse to try to stealthily nab the flag, while she and Lighting fend off JUBILEE and VULCAN.

VULCAN: Working with Jubilee was a good idea, because she was naturally creative, and he was able to enhance what she was already doing, rather him having to come up with things on his own. This was not the same as running plays in football, he might have come up with some sorts of strategies if he was to do this on a regular basis. Besides, he felt like being a team player, rather than trying to hog the limelight. He concentrated on the energy that the firecracker was producing, didn't she call them plasmoids or something? Sometime he intensified the brightness other times the size of it, the whole point was to be as distracting as possible.
When the others came at him he knew that Rogue could be a problem, he didn't want the other team to have his powers, the uniqueness of them gave them an edge, because not only could he enhance his teammates, he could also lower the effects of his opponents energy powers too, or simply go on the offensive himself. He rose into the air to make it harder for him to be touched by her. "Don't worry jubes, I should still be close enough to make your awesome powers even cooler," He said to her. Twenty-five feet in the air should be enough to do that.

MAREMOTO: "Wait… no, just go," he quickly told Talon, realizing his plan would not work. He wouldn't be able to 'grab' all the water in the pipe to rush it back. Paz couldn't control water he couldn't see. He could feel it, sure, but unless he had visual contact, nothing was going to happen. Besides, he wasn't exactly sure how to get it all in the pipes in the first place. It wasn't as simple as draining it down the grate, because that wouldn't provide any sort of current. He'd have to work with momentum somehow.
… [TALON: "give me exactly 4 minutes"]…
"Claro" he affirmed as she disappeared, and looked back to his barrels. Four minutes… four minutes to figure this out.
He ran over to the remaining filled barrels, and spilled them all on the ground. The water rushed all over the floor, but with a quick sweep of his hands, he gathered it all into a single pool. He frowned, looking at its size: he needed more water.
'Moto looked over to the windows where he'd previously sent water over to help Dryad's vines, and noticed that she was… well, not doing anything. In fact, curled up on the floor, she looked asleep.
With his free hand that he wasn't using to keep the water in a pool, a flash of light pulsed through 'Moto's hand as he flicked it to cause water from the pool nearby Dryad to splash her in the face. If she was asleep, that should wake her up. If she wasn't… well, that was for not thanking him.
Next, with a flutter of his fingers, 'Moto brought over the unused pools of water by the windows and added them to his pool. It was a modest addition, the vines absorbed a good amount naturally on their own, but it was still an addition nonetheless.
As his eyes glowed their characteristic blue, 'Moto looked over to the entrance into the underground sewers where Talon was crawling. If the pipe went all the way to the other base, from what Maremoto gathered walking into the Danger Room, that was a few hundred feet or so. This was going to take a lot of strength.
Assuming this whole preparation was nearing the four minute mark, 'Moto took a few more seconds to figure out how he was going to pull this off. Just throwing it in wasn't going to work-- it'd hit the bottom and just make a huge splash. He'd have to somehow get a current going… and fast.
With a quick gliding motion of his arms, 'Moto sent the pool of water towards the grate, letting it cascade down the hole. When it had all drained, he let go of his powers, and stepped over to the grate, jumping in himself with a splash. His eyes and nerves glowed again as turned his powers back on, feeling the water he was standing in. It had leveled out in the pipe; 'Moto could somewhat feel the length of it. Perhaps he could pull this off after all.
'Moto had no way to know, but he felt like he'd passed his four minute mark. Quickly, 'Moto laid down on his back in the shallow water, and started moving his legs in a reverse pedaling motion. The water started undulating slowly, back and forth, back and forth. He started to speed up his pedaling, the water churning in tune with his motions.
Alright. He had one shot at this. Hopefully it'd work.
'Moto switched his focus so that his power was only activated on the extension of his leg-- his quads and calves, which started pulsing rapidly underneath his pants. With his rapid kicking motion, 'Moto made the water course down the pipe in waves, each new wave lurching forward with each thrust of 'Moto's leg.
He kept this up, until he could no longer feel any connection to the water anymore. Paz bit his lip, hoping he'd given it enough momentum to travel all the way down the pipe. If not… well, Paz didn't want to think about 'if not'.

OOC: He used 5 or 6 barrels of water and pushed it all as hard as he could down the pipe, but I don't know if it will work or not-- storytellers' decision?
ST Note: Yes that should be sufficient to send a 'wash' behind and past Talon, but he'd have to keep in contact with it to keep it stuck there. End result: considering the size barrel were' talking about holds about 25 gallons of liquid, he's sent about 75 gallons down that sub-path/pipe Talon is in (6 half-barrels equals 3 full ones). ~MILLER~

SCAMPER: Epiphany rendered an affirmative response to confirm Rogue’s understanding of the plan.
Scamper sent the boards up per Domino’s request, and set to the ready once the signal to begin came ‘round. As the boards came over, Jayne took a few light, well-placed steps and sent a look toward the blue, furry one casting the palettes over…
“That simply won’t do… at all..” Jayne muttered, “..and I do hate re-gifting, but it seems fitting to return the favor.”
An incoming palette whirled toward her, and the impact seeming imminent… until it diverted course and was brought up to float in place… the next pallet in flight was struck out of its path, skidding harmlessly sideways.
Jayne cast her voce back, “Oh Pyro…” the call was paired with several pieces of broken palettes ‘flinching’ on the ground and then simultaneously pulling into a large pile about 10 feet to Jayne’s right.
“If I recall, wood tends to burn rather well… and aerial bombardment is so inconsiderate, don’t you think? If you’d be inclined to do the honors… Perhaps our furry friend over there might be inclined to move, if I sent over a little returned fire? It might also come in handy to have several open flame sources in their midst for you to use as well?”
Jayne intent seemed to be to have Pyro ignite the broken palette pieces, which she (or Rogue via the borrowed power) could then us her telekinesis upon to cast back at Beast. In the mean time, she focused on battering the incoming palettes away and advancing a short distance toward the central row area, wearing a very determined expression.

Summary: Epiphany acknowledges Rogue's question, as Scamper tries to turn the incoming aerial bombardment back on Beast with Pyro's requested assistance, while advancing herself a slight bit forawrd and using a 'captured' palette to batter the incoming ones away.

CLOUD: Cloud didn't get the chance to explain, before the exercise officially got underway, that although he could manage one or two strikes against a large, immobile target like a transformer, playing lightning tag with his classmates was absolutely a no-go. First and foremost, his aim simply wasn't that precise, and he certainly didn't want to risk harming anyone unnecessarily; secondly, building up enough of an ionic charge to generate a lightning burst took a lot of his energy, plus a fair bit of time, which he wasn't sure they had the luxury of.
Instead then, he opted to hang back, and remained close to the Mavericks' flag, waiting for some of the Excalibur team to approach. While he couldn't manage a lightning storm, he'd resolved to borrow another page out of Ororo Munroe's playbook. (He wasn't anywhere close to as powerful as the weather-witch, but Storm knew some really amazing tricks, and Danny had tried very hard to learn what he could from her.)
When the other team arrived, they'd find themselves confronted with a forceful blast of sleet and snow. The purpose behind the tactic was two-fold – to advance their progress forward, and to limit visibility as much as possible. Lightning, of course, wouldn't be affected; however, Danny realized that the other boy might be exceedingly reluctant to pass through him in this form, knowing that to do so would be to provide Cloud with the powerful ionic charge he couldn't necessarily create on his own, arming him with the ability to create his own lightning-strikes.

PYRO: Pyro didn't have to be asked twice, when given a target to burn. Domino immediately shot down the idea of his torching the entire building, but was at least kind enough to offer an alternate suggestion, in the form of the wooden pallets that Beast had begun hurling in their general direction. It'd be a bit like skeet-shooting, the Aussie surmised. Erik used to encourage him to play a similar game, wherein he'd launch cars into the air and have St. John explode their gas tanks. This version probably wouldn't be quite as spectacular, but it was still better than nothing.
He slipped outside the warehouse, and took aim at the latest of the wooden pallets, and the igniters on his wrists snapped to life. A flock of fire-birds erupted from his hands, growing larger, brighter, and denser as they soared into the air. They seized the pallets in their talons, carrying them back across the battlefield. As the flames started to lick at the wood, the winged creations vanished, leaving several of the wooden structures scattered across their surroundings as they burned.
The new girl – the walking Pom stereotype – seemed to have a similar idea, as the telekinetically gathered some of the broken boards together. Although he was reluctant to have to share his favourite toy, tending to guard his fires like a jealous lover, he could see the logic in his plan. If he kept up as he was now, pouring his efforts into creating and maintaining the fire-creatures, he'd burn himself out too quickly, and end up blacking out relatively quickly.
Therefore, he complied with Scamper's request, igniting the large bonfire-like structure she'd assembled, as well as the pallets she was hurling aside through the use of her powers.

TALON: Soldiers improvised on the field, they did not always need to be told what to do every step of the way. Talon had heard Paz's questions but she felt that she had given him enough information. She had disappeared into the small tunnel moments before he told her to go. She crossed the halfway mark when she heard the flooding of the water coming behind her, just as planned it washed over her body and forced her through the rest of the piping.
In mere seconds Talon found herself at the opposing teams grate, the water completely filling in around her. She scanned the area to see who was where. Talon started to slowly unscrew the grate taking each screw out and letting it drop to the bottom of the pipe beneath her. The water the sloshing over Kirika's body, soaking her to the bone, at least it was warm, and not freezing cold. Though it matter little to her either way, she could handle it.
Kirika heard the bombardment of the pallets that the Beast had sent as an Ariel diversion, to try and cause their enemy confusion, so anyone of them could grab the flag and return it to their home base. Talon had two of the screws popped out. She listened to the talking above her, mere inches away as she worked on the third then the fourth, with her fingers carefully sticking through the holes in the grate as she got the final one loosened, so far no one noticed her.

DRYAD: She didn't want to move from the spot where she had been laying, the most lovely dream had been playing in her head. Callie was standing in a battlefield with a group of people, and she was spreading life in an area that was cold and industrial. It was amazing, she probably would have cried if it weren't for the fact that she hurt so much. Funny how that can run through your mind. You could cry if you don't hurt so much. The pain was tolerable, but she still did not want to move. Water had splashed in her face, and the sound of redundantly loud impacts filled her ears.
She could feel the cold hard cement of the warehouse under her body, but the smell of flowers was present. It was nice to smell something so wonder upon waking up, but with all that was happening, she was confused. Callie released a yawn and shifted only ever so slightly, her memories flooding back to her as she began to recollect the fact that she was in in a dangerous mission. ‘Is’ ran through her head as she rolled onto her back, her eyes had still not quite opened yet. Her hair laid around her on the floor; Callie felt it when she reached for her head to focus. Why did she hurt? Oh right, she started that whole ‘let’s not eat anymore’ thing. That must be it. Her eyes began to shift in and out of focus. Did she faint? ‘Did I faint?” She asked herself, starting the question in thought and ending in words.
Last thing she remembered, she was singing to the plants. Her vines! That was the smell! A smile formed on her face, but she shut her eyes again quickly to avoid sensory overload as she sat up. Her hands moved around the floor till she found the wall with the window, and finally she rested her back against the structure as she sighed yet again. She was exhaling carbon monoxide from her alveoli, or was it dioxide, she couldn’t remember. “Ahh!” She called aloud, clutching her abdomen. Why was it hurting more now?
Her eyes finally opened, and she looked around the room. Beast was tossing hunks of wood in a rage. It was a scary thing to see, a ferocious indigo lion in a state of vehicle manslaughter. Wait what? She knew that thought had made no sense what so ever. God this power took energy out of her. How long had she been asleep?
“I’m so-rry Henr-….I mean…Beast…I hope I didn’t f-…fail, did I?” She meant to say it rhetorically, feeling she very well had failed. The question did come out asked like it was truly been asked though, from her lack of being able to control her tone. “I hope I don’t a…ala..always get this tired when I use my powers…” She giggled slightly from exhaustion. “Powers, I’m a super hero aren’t I? I don’t wannabe be a hero, I want to be an Americicica Hispory Expert.”
Her consciousness was beginning to return, gradually, but her mouth was refusing to catch up as quickly as her brain. Even her nonsense was sounding like nonsense to herself as she tried to form sentences and they didn’t flow together the way she hoped.
Callie grabbed a vine, and used it to life her up. “Sorry vine…” She whispered, her knees shaking to get used to holding her weight again. “Whew…I’m getting there. Almost ready to he-elp again.”
Talon was gone, and from what she could tell so was Maremoto. Vulcan and Jubilee were also gone. Oh gosh, how many people had left? She wasn’t sure, but she did know figuring out who stayed would be easier. That really pretty guy was there, Cloud. And Beast was there as well. It was the three of them, and that was it. “Let me help…” Callie asked, exhaustion still in her voice, but the mumbling and irrational statements gone. She looked around to see what she could do, but her knees gave out and she fell back down to the ground. “Owe!” Her arm still lay on the solid vine which she had been using for support only seconds ago. “I’m okay…”

MAREMOTO: Right… well, that was that, and all he could do. Hopefully it'd do… some sort of help for Talon. Though 'Moto wished he had more water in his possession to entirely fill the pipes, at least this was something?
Maremoto stood back up, and lifted himself up and out of the grate, dripping wet. With a quick scan around the room, a sudden realization (he'd been having a lot of these-- perhaps that meant he hadn't prepared enough) popped in his head: he has used up all the water.
"Mierda!" he cursed loudly. Great. Bueno. Lovely. There was no more water inside the warehouse. He'd sent it all down the drain. How the hell did he manage to do that without a second thought?
'Moto looked toward the window, and saw Dryad was up again. Well, awake and conscious, but still on the ground. He rolled is eyes. That girl was a piece of work, one that he wasn't going to deal with at the moment. Besides, he didn't even know how vine-ing up the windows was going to help much anyway- one simple blast of anyone's powers would reduce the whole thing to ashes.
But that couldn't be his concern right now. Beast was outside bombarding the other warehouse with… something heavy, from the sound it was making. Talon was gone, too. Same with Vulcan and Jubilee. That left Cloud, Dryad, Dead Girl, and himself in the warehouse.
Perfecto.
'Moto turned to look at the flag, and saw it covered in a grey haze. Hmm… from what Maremoto could gather, and if everyone had chosen appropriate codenames, that was probably Cloud. And he was looking pretty content up there, or however content a cloud could look, so Maremoto just assumed he had defense covered. He'd have to, anyway: 'Moto had no more water- he'd have to go get more, else he'd be useless.
Without a hesitant thought, 'Moto left the warehouse on a run, and began his search for more water. Hopefully he wouldn't be attacked…

DOMINO: By the time Henry was going all Donkey Kong on the outside, save with palates as opposed to barrels, Tamara had finished her interior redecorating and with the aid of some reconfigured palates of her own, she’d managed to block out every bit of daylight coming in through the windows, save for a thin bit that shone through the cracks at the top and lit the edges of the ceiling. The warehouse itself was festooned in shadow and darkness, giving the likes of herself, Wolfsbane, and Spectre considerably more to play with.
A momentary break in the cacophony of palate rain – no doubt their telekinetic defense had decided to get with the program – left Domino’s ears available to more subtle sounds… like the low whirr of metal against metal coming from the floor, or rather in the floor.
“Kirika, is that you sweetheart?” Dom pondered aloud, her feet moving silently along the pipe scaffolding, she wasn’t going to give up the high position because quite frankly… she didn’t need to.
“Surely when you removed the similar grate on your end you noted that there are bolts on both sides, not just below. How willing are you to lose an arm reaching through to try and loose them?”
~*~ Yes, I realize it’s an idle threat, but it’s buying us time. We know where she’s coming from, just a matter of disabling. No, Rahne, I’m not going to chop off her hand. Though waterboarding her in that pipe does have a certain appeal. I kid… I kid… ~*~
Tam had to admit, while she’d had personality issues with Elder Frost in the past – and even that was mostly residual grudge that bubbled over from Monet through her towards Emma – the psychic friends network was particularly handy for covert communication.
Coming across a particularly intriguing cache of small-grade electrical conduit from her high perch, she tied off wires from one handgrip-sized pipe, with another slightly weightier chunk of piping at the other end of each. The final product much resembled a crude cat of nine tails, except it had only three tails and it’s intended purpose was far better suited as a makeshift boleadora (or “bola”). And this was the reason for maintaining her high position. In the increased darkness, Spectre’s shadowy shroud made the ‘flag’ virtually invisible, one would think even to those with night.

TALON: Talon was soaking wet as she was working on the grate to enter into the warehouse through the floor. She smirked as she saw the last of the light fade away above her, as she had thought they would indeed cover all light sources. Good strategy, though one with heightened senses Kirika saw perfectly in night as if it were daylight. Then she heard the sounds of footfalls coming her way on the cool cement over the piping in the floor.
The smell was unmistakable, Tamara, Domino, then of course the cool and calculating voice. Talon smiled as she heard the idle threat of loosing a hand or an arm come out of Domino's mouth. Kiri knew the girl wouldn't do it, she could tell by her heart rate. Talon then started to slip the tool back into the water filled drain with her.
She could see Domino from her vantage point, and Domino in a matter of moments would see her. Once Kirika popped through, time would be of the essence, attack fast, unless they made a mad dash at capturing her. Could prove interesting either way.
"Oh, Hey there, Dom, no, just felt like going for a little swim in a tight pipe and ended up here… "
Kirika thought why not through a little banter back at Domino, try to stall her a little. But worse case, Kiri lost a hand, she'd have it back in roughly a day with her regenerative powers. It would hurt like a bitch loosing it but she would get it back.

So as not to fill Beast’s OOC with harder to read font… also to get general answers out sooner than later…
Re: Domino’s ooc…I understand the confusion, as in the mental picture being referenced. So, ST stating for clarity: The grates are old type, not modern, and so allowing more space between where the ‘lines’ cross. Distance for Talon’s hand (and tool) to fit through is an open-space square about a 2 ½ inch on each side. Hence no problem for someone noticing a thin Asian-looking hand reaching up through grate, and unscrewing the needed fix-points, IF she does (i.e. Talon’s still under the grate at the time of Domino’s post.. and her own recent one)…leaving that to Talon and Dom, for playing out the hand-loss drama which hasn’t been resolved quite yet. Screws On the grates themselves are on the TOP of both grates in either warehouse… if it read that there were screws on the under-side of the grates ignore that.
Re: Spectre… I’ll try to keep up with his autoing as well… His ‘going shadow’ is essentially accurate placement per Dom’s post, and he should be considered for now as ‘darkening’ the Excalibur’s Flag… there’s a big black silhouette there instead.. for now at least…
Re: Pyro… Tried to account a ‘Flock’ fairly, as more than 2 of the flame-birds… so imagining them the size of Eagles, being 6 of them total, and 2 of them taking a corner of each of 3 palettes… so, as they say… bombs away! Will be noting where they land… for now, 1 lands right by Beast; others to be noted in his next post.
Re: Cloud (and Lightning and the rest actually)… my bad.. forgot to mention re: environment.. there ARE a few Powerlines running along basically ‘Telephone Poles’.. so the point of a big, ground-set, electrical transformer is out, but those conduit ‘Nodes’ are still there (the cylindrical shell thingy they use to protect where main lines join), located on top of the poles. Count them as 4 poles bordering the intersecting buildings, 2 in far South, 2 in far North, oriented along the border of the DR ‘battlefield’, and spaced approx. 30 feet from each other or any buildings.

BEAST: Hank called back to Callie, who was attempting to right her position to standing, “One doesn’t ‘fail’ DR training, Dryad… it’s simply a tool for your development, albeit this simulation is a bit more extensive than most.” Hank was unaware of the dietary awareness she was currently practicing, so was presuming the use of her power was the culprit… hence to him, she’d simply over-taxed herself temporarily… a point she could try to gauge more carefully in the future, but he could suggest that later. At the moment, Beast was dealing with the on-coming threat from the opposing team, and trying to support his own, so his attention was slight bit more focused on the Excalibur squad by necessity.
Dead Girl was keeping silent, but unwrapping a Tootsie pop, and humming lightly, “Don’t worry, hun..” she mentioned to Dryad, her aquamarine eyes sparkling to Callie, and the floating form of Cloud, and casually picking up a 4 foot section of Rebar from the near the wall, and giving a test swing through the air like a major league batter. “We got home plate covered…” A look to Maremoto drew up a pair of fingers to her lips, and she whistled loudly. “Yo.. ‘Moto! You need water? How’s this?” With that Tatyana gave a sharp side-strike to a rusty pipe valve wheel, and shoved the rebar through to help it further turn… a moment later a nearby outlet began spewing gouts of H2O, which began spilling out into just outside of the Mavericks’ warehouse front door…
Pyro’s transporting a few burning palettes himself via ‘firebirds’ drew Beast’s attention very definitely. He’d just run out of the supply of ‘ammo’ previously slung on his arm and was about to reach for the rest of the stack, when a sound from above, something like a gentle waft of air, perked his ear. The silence of its descent was not telling of the actual threat however, as a flaming palette came crashing down right in front of Beast and burst in a riot of splintering wood and flaring embers… Hank had only a chance to bound reactively backward to avoid being hit.
None of his fur was singed, luckily, but it had been altogether too close for comfort all the same. The stack of palettes he’d had available was now catching fire as well, so removed that particular source of ‘ammo’ for Hank’s further use. .. The further dropping of flaming debris had made the central row area a bit too treacherous for his ground travel as well, so Beast sprung up, using alternating upward pounces to catch at the windows ledges, and drawing his large furry mass to the roof. A look outward took in the distance he’d need to cover… and a set of loping bounds, gaining speed and momentum, proceeded Beast traversing the open gap of air between one building to the next… Hank skidded slightly on the slightly loped rooftop… not yet to the Excalibur Home-base… but 1 intermediary building from it now…
“Advance!” he called over to Jubilee and Vulcan. Hank could guess Talon had made it TO the opposing squad’s base, and was trying to figure out a viable distraction for her from the outside…
“It seems I’ve just volunteered for ‘Decoy Duty’” he chuckled lightly to himself…

DRYAD: Beast ran off in a hurry, and Dryad was not too sure how to react. She was going to follow Maremoto out and see if she could help, but it seemed the water source problem was not present anymore. When the fire had begun to bombard the base, worry ran through her mind. The vines! Her plan to leave the base was now completely useless, and she could very well see that there was need of her here.
The water had already reached her waist, but she was not paying attention to the fact she was starting to get soaked from sitting in the water. She needed to keep the fire from reaching the vines, and quick!
“M-Maremoto, I need you to wet the vines *yawn* and pre…f…f…ferably block the flames from enter*yawn* entering the base.” Would it be too much to ask if you used you power to make a door with your hydroxyls It seems we have an fair supply now…” Callie was happy she was taking control to an extent, it may have been because she was tired that she wasn’t staying freaked for so long. She just didn’t have the energy to be too scared.
Her arm reached for that same vine, and she fought her way up to secure a standing position. She still felt like complete crap, and her equilibrium was completely thrown on. “I think I might throw up if I-” Callie fell to her knees as she began dry heaving, her eyes clearly irritated and red from the stress of her body of nothing coming out. Finally a torrent of practically clear water come from her throat, a clear fact that she had plenty of water earlier today. Her nose was dripping water as she struggled to wade away from her current location, confused as to what actually happened.
How embarrassing could it get in here for Callie? Passing out, throwing up, and wading in her own water-puke were not things she had planned to do on her first mission. Whatever intellectual respect she was hoping to have achieved in this mission was forfeit now, she knew that. Her frustration hit her like a bus as she fought back tears. Not again. ‘No, I hate how this is coming along!’ She sobbed slightly as she once again fought to stand on her two feet. ‘I will not let myself look like any more of a fool!’

He cracked open the door, but just before he totally exited the building, Maremoto turned to his his left to see Dead Girl create a makeshift handle to turn the nearby pipe valve. 'Moto looked back outside, and noticed a rapidly expanding pool of water coming from a tap a couple feet away.
He smiled. "Thanks!" he shouted to Dead Girl, gracious that he didn't have to venture out into the heat of fire now.
Paz ran over to the water, and stuck his hand underneath the cascade. It was cold. Good-- the sudden drop of temperature would temporary disorient someone if he were to slap water to their face, which, why not directly useful to Maremoto, could help someone like Talon or Beast who had heightened reflexes and the works.
Maremoto had a thought about using the water to continue with the pipe-flooding plan with Talon, but a large explosion a few buildings away from where he was standing stole his attention.
He looked down the center path between the warehouse, and saw something completely unexpected: a flock of bird that seemed to be made of fire, engulfing pieces of wood with their flames and dropping them all around.
Another explosion of flames and splinters, and 'Moto was starting to think defense was no his position. He didn't know about Pyro, never meeting him yet, but the flames were enough to give 'Moto reason that someone on the other team could use fire.
Everyone knew fire stood no chance against water. But all the water was at the home-end of the field-- 'Moto didn't know what was on the other side. What if they knew about him, and got rid of all the surrounding water? Then he'd be screwed.
'Moto bit his lip anxiously, wondering what he should do. Stay back, and defend the home base, or go out and try to suppress the fire-user?
He looked back inside the warehouse. Dead Girl, Cloud, and Dryad. He thought about who was out on the front lines: Vulcan, Jubilee, Beast, and Talon. Four back, four up was nice and even, but the sudden fiery explosions was making 'Moto feel he was more needed on the front lines now… an offensive-defense.

'Moto heard Dryad's request, but couldn't deal with it right now. He was already about to get busy, and she wasn't proving to be too reliable right now. With a crack of his neck, 'Moto activated his powers, visible with a flush of light coursing down his body and the glow of his eyes. Starting off slow, 'Moto started rocking his arms and body. The water from the spout started churning, slushing back and forth in tune with him. He'd have to build up the momentum again before he tried this out.
The pool was still growing from the fast-spewing water spigot, and was reaching a considerable volume, say… several barrels, give or take. 'Moto could feel the strain in his muscles from the resistance of the water as he built up the momentum. Then, when he felt like it was sufficient, with a heave of his arms back and a bright flash of light through his nerves, Maremoto raised the water behind him up in a giant crest, then sent it all forward down the central alley in a great wave with a heavy thrust of his arms.
Just as he let go of the water as it thundered down its path, the glow from underneath his skin and eyes faded, and suddenly a wave of exhaustion flooded his body. Maremoto collapsed forward, his muscles drained of energy.

LIGHTNING: ~Aww don't you speak LA?~ Miguel sent to Rogue via the Epiphany network. He was honing in on Jubilee. "You speak LA don't you Jubilee," he said to the girl, knowing full well that Jubilee had no idea what it was that he and Rogue had been talking about. He made sure that his electricity did not actually hurt her, at least that was his intent, it was still lightning, and he could still hurt her.
"Apologies in advance, Miss Lee, if you get hurt, I will promise shopping will be on me." He said, even as he hurled the lightning at her. This was supposed to be a game, but his powers could hurt someone. He tried to keep an eye out for Cloud. Miguel was not much into Hydrology, it was a miracle that he even knew the word. He had lost track of Scamper in the game, as well as Rogue and Vulcan. There were flames in around which suggested Pyro was in the game. He imagine Wolfsbane was moving about somewhere , or that she was guarding the flag. THere was chatter on the Epiphany network, but there was so much to keep track of, and Miguel was a victim of a relatively short attention span. Maybe he was like an electron for real, only tending to be in one place.
He laughed at that and forced himself to play more attention.

JUBILEE: It was beautiful. Her now newly enhanced fireworks; exploding with immense light and thundering sounds, which was courtesy of Vulcan. A smile was stretching across her face as she threw a paf up into the air and made it explode, knowing all to well that it was catching the attention of the other team. She moved slowly, inching her way towards the other side of the warehouse, hell-bent on getting the other teams 'flag'. But then Miguel's voice caught her attention and Jubilee looked his way.
"You speak LA don't you Jubilee," Said Miguel.
"You bet yer ass I do" Jubilee responded, her hands glowing and coated with lightning- sparkling off her fingertips, and ready to send a paf his way.
"Apologies in advance, Miss Lee, if you get hurt, I will promise shopping will be on me." Miguel added.
"Bull-Shit… " Jubilee looked up at Vulcan, "VULCAN… Hit me with your best shot… NOW!!!" Jubilee called up to her teammate, wanting him to strike her with his power. She then began focusing the lighting on her hands to travel up her arms. She could only make them go as far as her elbows without dissipating, but hopefully, with Vulcan's help, she would be able to surround herself in her own lightning, and maybe use it as a way to protect herself from what Miguel had planned. Using her own lightning to counteract Miguel's attack?
The firecracker hoped it would work. The last thing she wanted was to get hurt during a danger room session!

BEAST: The wave of water sent down the middle, approximately 125 gallons worth, rushed forward in a crash… The force knock a forklift it the path over as it continued… sloshing up and over, extinguishing the palettes dropped by Pyro’s ‘avian’ manifestations, and carrying them with the make-shift flood.
The charred flotsam caught in the water drew toward Scamper at the other end of the central row, who sent the palette she’d been using to batter with down, commanding its position into a fixed block point via her telekinesis, and shielding herself and Pyro from the momentary onrush of soaked debris.
Dead Girl made herself useful by moving to Maremoto, grabbing him by clutching under his armpits, and dragging him back just around the corner of the closest intermediary building, out of the line of sight down the middle, so at least he could recover in relative safety.
The area between the building he was on and the Excalibur warehouse left a lot of open ground to cover for Hank. He could see Lighting, and which direction he was facing, but not where Jubilee and Vulcan where… he could presume they were the focus of Miguel’s attention, but now wasn’t absolutely sure, as neither of them from his squad were in direct sight… the presence of Jubilee’s ‘Pafs’ however, were a fairly good indicator of their general location as far as Hank could tell… He was unsure how best to assist them, as they seemed to be handling the situation in a manner reminiscent of a classic 'sword-person and shield-bearer' combination; one enhancing the other via respective concentration on offense, while the other solely defended… perhaps this was a slight alteration, but the effect seemed to be the same.
Scamper took a note from Rogue’s suggestion, and rose in a single bounding leap, up to the roof directly north from Beast and surveyed the high-route to the Mavericks’ warehouse.

TALON: Talon had grown tired of the insistent waiting, the water was nearly over her face and ready to flood into the warehouse if Maremoto did not stop it, which he had moments before. She took a small breath and submerged herself before she planted her feet up on the rusty grate hearing it creak and then leg-pressed the grate off, striking the grate causing it to fly up into the air.
Then Talon stuck her head out, she grabbed the edges as she pulled herself up and out of the piping and into the Warehouse. She looked about her vision nearly perfect among the shadows she could also smell where every one was as water dripped off her suit. While not fully accurate due to the water, she knew Domino was above her somewhere, she saw Frost off to the side.
And Spectre's scent was unmistakable, however it was no where to be found, so he had to be in his shadow form. Kirika quickly brushed the hair out of her eyes. It was a great plan using Spectre's mutant powers to cloak the flag, Kirika was impressed.
The woman took a breath and then looked about trying to figure out exactly where the flag was. If this was laid out exactly or even similar to their own the flag could be in the center on a chair. Talon turned toward the direction of where she believed the center most spot was and ran for the flag.

VULCAN: Gabriel heard the banter between the two LA children. Distracting Lightning was good, because he was the flyer, also because Everyone else still had to deal with the fall out of Jubilee's awesome displays. He and Jubilee made a good team, together they could control how easily the other side gained access to their flag. He was keeping an eye out for Rogue, hoping that she was not trying to slip through their net. THere was also Scamper to worry about, and who ever was moving under ground. Hopefully they were tangling it out below, after all a winning was important, but the next level down was not losing, so if the game ended with a draw, it was cool. Next time they would have to try new strategies.
"VULCAN… Hit me with your best shot… NOW!!!"
Hearing the request, Garbirel allowed his power to intermingle with Jubilee's allowing his energies to improve hers. He had no idea what she was doing, and didn't really have to; he was basically the accelerator to her car, she was steering, but he was increasing the speed (that is power) of her fireworks. He knew her power had a physical component, she didn't think that she was necessarily going to try to attack Miguel, he wasn't even particularly sure the living lightning bolt could be harmed, maybe bottled up in a Duracell or something like that. He tried not to be distracted though there were after all other people on the battle field.
