XAVIER INSTITUTE - COURSE GUIDE 2007-2008 FALL SCHEDULE
Extracuriculum • Institute • Rules, Policies & Regulations • Schedules • Squadrons
Greetings! And welcome Back to another year at Xavier's Institute for the Gifted. To our new students, we extend a warm welcome and to those returning, we hope that you will help those new to our hallowed halls. In joining the Institute, you take your place amongst an elite group of students from all walks of life and backgrounds. We hope that you will able to learn as much from your peers as you will from your instructors. To our returning students, welcome back and may this semester be one of learning and enjoyment for you all.
Xavier's offers courses ranging from Junior High level (7th and 8th grade) to High School level (9th through 12th grade) and, in cooperation with University, is able to offer a large variety of cross-credit courses that can be applied towards a bachelor's degree. Our high school students are even able to take these courses on a dual-credit basis, applying the education to their progress in high school while getting a head start in their college career.
In order to make choosing your classes as painless a process as possible, we have taken the liberty of composing compulsory schedules. These schedules clearly delineate which courses are required for all students of that level and which periods are open for chosen electives. Please take careful note of the requirements for your academic level, as several of these electives must be delegated towards courses required by the New York State government for graduation. If you have any questions, please take them up with your advisors who are here always to help you.
Let's all make this a year to remember!
(FT) denotes a full-term class. If you enroll during one semester, you must enroll for the both.
(DC) denotes a dual-credit class for juniors and seniors. By taking these classes, you may earn college credit while still in high school.
(CC) denotes a course-credit class for college students.
(P) denotes a class with a prerequisite for entry. See the class description for more information.
