APPEARANCE: |
| Donald is a middle-aged man who has replaced most of his organic tissue and skeleton over the years with advanced cybernetics. If one were force to go by external observation alone, it is nearly impossible to tell that he is part machine. He normally dresses in rather expensive business attire, but wears it in a more casual manner; Ties have better uses than on one's neck, generally. |

PERSONALITY: |
| Pierce is an anti-mutant bigot, which may get him on the Inner Circle's bad side, as they are all (except for him) true mutants. He is a genius, however, and he can create most anything, if he puts his mind to it. Likely, this is what keeps him in good standing as the HFC's 'go to' man for technological expertise, and he knows it. |
GOALS: |
| To bring about an end to Mutant-kind. Any other agendas, he's not sharing... |

SPECIAL ABILITIES
ADVANTAGES: |
| AMBIDEXTROUS - Pierce is equally capable of performing any task with either hand and is able to perform tasks just as well with one hand injured, as his hands have been cybernetically enhanced.
CON-GOER - Pierce is completely jazzed about the power he possesses and what it can possibly amount to. He can push themselves to his limits as he tries to reach new heights with his cybernetics.
CONFIDENCE - Pierce possesses an untouchable air of superiority that makes others instinctively realize he's in control. Pierce doesn't come off as cocky, though he can be at times.
EIDETIC MEMORY - Pierce possesses the uncanny ability to recall images, sounds, or objects in memory with great accuracy and in seemingly abundant volume due to his enhanced cybernetics.
HARD TO KILL - Simply put, Pierce is incredibly difficult to kill. Even when you blow him to bits, he has an annoying habit of surviving... somehow.
LIGHTNING CALCULATOR - Anything that relates to numbers, regardless of whether its multiplication, subtraction, percentage or standardization, Pierce knows how to do it and can do it with unflappable accuracy and at a fast pace.
TIRELESS - Pierce can function better with less sleep then most. While the average person needs a good eight hours a night, Pierce requires fewer hours or less than an hour of sleep per night in some cases. However, he still gets tired like a normal person, but this happens at a much slower pace. |
POWERS: |
| CYBERNETICS - Nearly all of Donald Pierce's organic tissue has been replaced with highly advanced cybernetics constructed of a lightweight metal alloy that functions in much the same way as his organic tissue once did, only vastly more efficient. Originally, only Pierce's arms and legs were replaced with cybernetic limbs, yet Pierce has steadily replaced his organic tissues over the years with cybernetics, adding upgraded technology to his body as needed.
The prosthetic portions (and a good deal more) of his skeleton are composed of an alloy of his own formulation, called Polymantium, plus additional surgically implanted, variably-sized plates of the same substance to protect his remaining vital organs. Among other things, Polymantium has the ability to withstand heat levels nearly up to superheated Plasma, can resist up to 6 tons per sq. ft. in pressure and impacts, and has a heavy resistance to any electo-magnetic or magnetic power.
SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH - The musculature of Pierce's upper and lower body has been replaced with highly advanced hydraulics that are many times stronger than his organic tissue was. At peak operating efficiency, Pierce possesses sufficient superhuman strength to lift about 10 tons.
SUPERHUMAN SPEED - Just as the case of physical strength, the advanced hydraulics of Pierce's cybernetics enable him to run and move at speeds beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
SUPERHUMAN STAMINA - Pierce's advanced hydraulics enable him to exert his body physically for much longer periods of time than a normal human is capable of. While they don't produce fatigue toxins like human muscles, the hydraulics are susceptible to wear and tear if he exerts himself for too long. At peak efficiency, Pierce can exert himself physically for up to 24 hours before the overall efficiency of his hydraulic systems begin to sustain damage without Pierce stopping to rest and repair any damage.
SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY - The light metal alloy that makes up most of Pierce's body is much more resistant to physical injury than the organic tissue of a normal human. Pierce's cybernetic body can withstand powerful impact forces, high caliber bullets, falls from great heights, exposure to extreme temperatures and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury.
SUPERHUMAN AGILITY - Pierce's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
SUPERHUMAN REFLEXES - Pierce's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.
PSIONIC RESISTANCE - Over the years, Pierce has added various technology to his organic brain tissue that enables him to resistant telepathic ‘reading’ upon his own mind, as well as revert telepathic assaults back to the person they originate from, at least to a certain degree. Exceptionally powerful telepaths, however, such as Charles Xavier, have proven resistant to this ability and have successfully assaulted his mind. |
FIGHTING SKILLS: |
| COMBAT STYLE (Brawling) - This skill lets Pierce inflict damage when using fists, claws, teeth, or any other natural attack. These actions (bites, eye gouges, kidney punches, and so on) are generally frowned upon in heroic circles. He is a good hand to hand combatant, although he tends to rely more on brute strength rather than technique in most situations.
ELECTRONICS/CYBERNETICS/ROBOTICS - Pierce has become a master in cybernetics, advanced electronics, and robotics. In these fields he has developed technology that exceeds that of conventional science by approximately two centuries. And, he's not offering to share his knowledge - at least, not yet.
FINANCE - Capitalism at its finest. Pierce is a cunning strategist of business and industrialist.
GADGETRY – Disassembling something mechanical in order to make something else. This applies to any known technology which Pierce comes across, to augment as he sees fit with whatever constituent components are available.
MANIPULATION - Pierce is able to get people to do what he wants without letting them know it. This includes scheming, seduction, and other such machinations. |
DISADVANTAGES: |
| COMPULSIVE-AGGRESSIVE - Pierce is used to getting what he wants, as are most people who have a disturbing amount of money. When he doesn't get his way, he tends to lash out without thinking first.
INSENSITIVE - Pierce has problems understanding how to gauge other’s emotional reactions, and can be rather blunt as a result.
CYBERPSYCHOSIS – This occurs when a person, having received a substantial amout of their natural body replaced with technology, becomes convinced that the ‘meat’ more serves the ‘machine’ than vice versa. It is a fight for control, via the cumulative effect of the cybernetics and technological upgrades exerting a ‘presence’ onto Pierce’s own mind, with the aim of replacing it. In effect, Cyberpsychosis is the ‘soul’ of a person being slowly whittled away and replaced as the ‘machine’ persona imposes itself... The end result will eventually be that no defined ‘man’ will be left, and the guiding intelligence of Pierce will no longer relate to humans at all except via cold, hard logic. As he is now, Pierce still retains ‘control’ over his actions…. But will eventually be truly devoid of any emotions, conscience, or sense of morality, ethics or remorse. |

HISTORY
Donald Pierce was born into a wealthy family, their fortune made decades ago by Anton Pierce, Donald's great-grandfather, who had capitalized on the trade of cotton, rum, and slaves during the early nineteenth century. While little is known about his intermediary past, Donald’s wealth and family name brought him into the Hellfire Club. Curiously, all records on Pierce including family, accomplishments in academia, etc. have either been lost or ambiguously ‘misplaced’.
Hoping to make a name for himself in his early Twenties, Donald was involved, though direct connections remain unproven, in trying to seize control of Albania. Little details are known, but it is believed that Donald was confronted by resistance from an unknown group. During the time of the battle, Pierce was rumored to have lost several limbs, necessitating his dependence on self-fashioned prosthetic limbs and beginning his strong loathing of superheroes. More specifically, Pierce loathes Mutants, as they represent either a wasted resource via their lack of control or a potential enemy by virtue of their abilities. To Pierce, Mutants are an aberration of ‘pure’ humans, to the extent that their inclusion in the world’s gene pool must be denied by any means necessary. Donald would eventually prove his worth as a Hellfire Club member and was soon invited to Sebastian Shaw’s Inner Circle. There, Donald was granted the title, White Bishop.
Having been somewhat reclusive to the outside world since the incidents in Albania, Pierce has had quite a bit of time to amass an extensive fortune, and has of late begun to make his presence more openly observable in public. He is known, though not by the general populace, to own land bases and more than one island outright devoted to the production of various machines (including weapons). Among these, Pierce has taken full advantage of “Sovereignty” status of several places, hence declaring the majority of his holdings outside of the legal authority of world governments to pass any restrictions on his many and varied ‘products’. While the majority of these products are actually legitimate and beneficial, rumors persist (unproven as yet) of Pierce supplying weapons to various uprisings and insurgent forces around the world.
Most recently, Pierce has fallen under the scrutiny of SHIELD. Since the latter months of 2009, SHIELD has been aware of a shift in materials to certain facilities Pierce owns and operates, located just outside the main area of the South Pacific, on his own "Factory Islands". Repeated covert attempts at gathering information on what is being produced clandestinely have come up with minimal data, but notably has also produced 4 dead SHIELD field agents tasked with procuring the information. All that is known as yet is that Pierce is bringing in more materials than are being sent out as legitimate merchandise, but the exact nature and form of what is not leaving is so far unknown.
