| Jamie is witty and sarcastic and very quick to tell jokes. He enjoys pranks and practical jokes, and feels most at home with others possessing a strong sense of humor. For Jamie, the sound of laughter is the best medicine and therapy, and it's easy to determine that he uses it as a defense against tribulation and strife that arises in every day to day life.
His comedy and wit help him to avoid uncomfortable situations and conversation. Due to his traumatic past, Jamie is subconsciously afraid of isolation, and does whatever necessary to gain the attention that will keep him from ever feeling alone again.
However, in spite of his witty manner, Jamie is capable of understanding the gravity of a situation, if serious enough. | SELF DUPLICATION - Multiple possesses the mutant ability to create identical physical duplicates of himself when violently struck (or when he strikes himself). It is not yet known precisely how Multiple's power works: although the duplicate bodies seem to "split off" from within him, he does not undergo a mitosis process like that of cells, creating identical entities each with half the mass of the original. Each duplicate possesses the same mass as the original. He does not appear to be transmuting nearby elements into his likeness either. If he is indeed converting energy to matter, the expected devastating release of energy must be shunted elsewhere since it is not in evidence.
Upon sufficient kinetic impact, Multiple "splits off" a single duplicate. Although he can "create" multiple selves consecutively, he cannot bring into being more than one duplicate at a time. The maximum number of duplicates of himself Multiple can "create" consecutively before taxing his ability is not yet known. At this point, he has been able to "create" fifteen or sixteen before fatigue has set in and stopped the process. It is assumed the limit will increase as he gains more control and experience with his power, but there may be a finite number that can ever be produced at once.
Multiple's duplicates remain in existence for as long as he wills them to. When he wills them out of existence, they are seemingly "absorbed" back into his body. It is not yet known whether they always automatically disappear if the original is rendered unconscious.
Each of the copies possesses the, original's power, and are capable of duplicating themselves at will, as well.
However, recently there has been a wrinkle in his power. Before, his dupes possessed the same mentality as him but lately they have been taking on different aspects of his personality. IE, his feminine side, self-loathing, and so on.
Since Multiple is actually a duplicate of the original, now older, Multiple Man, is is unclear whether the mutation has been affected by his creation. He may have limitations that would not apply to the other. |
FIGHTING SKILLS: |
| SKILL DEVELOPMENT - If one of his duplicates learns a skill and is then re-absorbed, Jamie gains the ability that was learned. He has started to take advantage of this by creating duplicates and giving them tasks to learn. So far he has not increased far beyond his innate abilities, but over time he should develop more. Right now, he is more concerned with fitting in. |
DISADVANTAGES: |
| EXTREME DENIAL - Multiple knows deep down that he is a dupe himself, but he has successfully blocked that fact from his conscious mind. He will do whatever is necessary at this point to avoid facing it. If confronted, he will start by trying to change the subject, but if the matter is pressed, he will enter a fugue state and flee the situation. Any dupes accidently created during this time will be extremely paranoid, extremely afraid, or extremely hostile. Once he has calmed down, he will not remember what was said or experienced during the episode.
INDECISIVENESS - Multiple often finds it very difficult to make a concrete decision at times as a result of his ability to literally follow every option to see its outcome. This can lead sometimes to a paralysis in the face of danger.
KINETIC IMPACT - Since his powers are triggered by his body absorbing a kinetic force, a strong enough blow or impact will cause duplicates to sprout out from him, the number of which depending on how strong the impact was. Hence he is unable to stop some one from hitting him and creating a number of Multiples without his consent.
RE-ABSORPTION DIFFICULTIES - The re-absorption of a dupe can momentarily overwhelm the originial Multiple's personality if the dupe had a strong mental state. He is learning to cope with this, but it can result in him either shutting down to cope or having a brief submersion of his real state of mind until the dupe's consciousness is fully integrated. The stronger the consciousness, the longer this can take.
UNABLE TO CONTROL OUTCOME OF DUPLICATE PRODUCTION - He has still not mastered his ability to make dupes with a certain overall personality aspect. Although he is aware this can happen, he is still experimenting with the outcomes. This can result in dupes that are radically different than the original Multiple or ones that can hinder rather than help. |
EQUIPMENT

| Jamie's old costume is designed to absorb kinetic energy so that he will not create duplicates through accidental impacts. When it malfunctioned years ago it began absorbing ambient electrical energy. It could also absorb intense heat. Jamie could use this absorbed electrical energy to increase his strength. The costume has since been in disrepair and Jamie no longer wears it, feeling that only through practicing his powers will he truly be able to master them.
He normally wears casual clothes, Jeans and a t-shirt, usually. The shirt is green and has the yellow madrox symbol on it, in memory of his old costume. |

HISTORY
Little is known about Madrox beyond his having escaped the Weapon-X complex some years ago. He is an ex-bank robber (having robbed seven banks at the same time) and serves as a decoy for Magneto's Brotherhood, duplicating himself to appear as many people on satellite images, while the rest of the Brotherhood escape. He's rearrested by U.S Army troops after they escape.
