PERSONALITY:

Josh is firm in his beliefs. He had been brought up in a racist, anti-mutant family, so as a young person he firmly believed that mutants were an abberation. He has seen the error of his close-minded ways and now believes that humans and mutants should be able to peacefully co-exist, and he also has taken responsibility for his beliefs since becoming disowned by his bigot-parents.

Josh used to be more of a follower before coming to Xavier's, but he is now learning how to be a strong individual. He won't let anyone tell him what to think, and he won't blindly follow orders. He never wants a repeat situation of what happened with him and the anti-mutant gang.

Josh is a pretty happy young man and makes friends easily; however, he still harbours guilty feelings about what he did to that poor mutant kid the night his powers manifested, and he worries that his new friends at the Xavier Institute will hate him for his past actions/beliefs.

GOALS:

To discover his mutation's boundaries.

To learn everything he can about the human body and how it works.

To co-exist peacefully among homo sapians.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

ADVANTAGES:

CONFIDENCE - Elixir gives off a sense of confidence which is obvious to notice. He's rather full of himself at times, and though he isn't wildly outstanding, he does have some reason to be proud. People look at it as not so much over-the-top, but more like he's quite admirable that he is so comfortable with himself.

CURIOSITY - Josh gets curious really easily, and tends to learn things from leading himself by intuition. When he wants to know something, he tries to figure it out by attaining the most abundant information possible.

CUTE - Elixir is cute, and has never really been considered to be "hot" by most people. He gives off a general level of attractiveness.

DAMN HEALTHY! - Because of his power, he subconsciously is extremely healthy, as his body reflexively rearranges and evenly distributes whatever it is he consumes.

POWERS:

HEALING TOUCH - Josh is able to manipulate any organic matter, including his own body. Currently, he knows how to use this ability to heal wounds and illnesses by focusing on fixing/rebuilding damaged cells. His knowledge of human anatomy and biology is much higher than that of the average teenager, and he uses this knowledge to assist in the healing process.

FIGHTING SKILLS:

BIOLOGY - Josh has studied human anatomy extensively to better utilize his healing ability. He's not at a professional level of expertise yet, and couldn't lead a college lecture on biology or anatomy, but he knows all of the basics and uses this knowledge in tandem with his healing ability. Josh is always looking to learn more on this topic.

COMPUTERS (Usage) - Josh can operate an Apple computer and effectively waste hours a day on the Internet, Googling with the best of them. Josh does most of his anatomy/biology studying online in his free time.

RESEARCH - The science of finding and validating finds as fact.

DISADVANTAGES:

MORTAL - When it comes down to the nitty gritty, Elixir is human. His body is as susceptible to pain, injury and disease as that of the next person.

HISTORY

Josh Foley grew up in Queens, New York. He was the son of a couple of racists who hated mutants (his father had said once that he was an "equal-opportunity hater" - if they weren't normal, straight white people, he saw them as the scum of the Earth).

After the end of his freshman year of high school, Josh fell in with some older kids, who introduced Josh to their anti-mutant gang. Having grown up surrounded by the bigotry of his parents, he supported this anti-mutant belief and joined the gang. They were made up mostly of kids around Josh's age - high school kids - some were a little older, and some were a little younger, but they all wanted to clear the world of the "mutie scum".

The gang was known for doing mean and sometimes harmful things to other kids that they knew were mutants. Stones were thrown at some of their mutant peers, other victims were subjected to wedgies and swirlies, and others yet were actually beat up. Usually, the victims kept their mouths shut about who had done them whatever terrible wrong because they were feeling embarrassed or ashamed about the whole affair.

One evening that summer, right before day turned to dusk, Josh was out with the gang, looking for a mutant to teach a lesson to. They soon came upon a kid at the nearly deserted playground of a nearby park who they recognized to be a mutant. This kid was probably about ten years old, and he looked like a normal person, but... He was far from ordinary. This kid was a mutant who had abilities that enabled him to move things with his mind - a telekinetic. Well, at their school news and gossip travel quite quickly - everyone knew who this kid was! So, they surrounded him and proceeded to beat him senseless. He would have died if Josh's healing ability hadn't kicked in.

Once Josh's powers turned on and began to heal their victim, the gang saw that Josh was one of those "dirty muties" and left the pair down on the ground, shunning and spitting on their way. Josh was no longer welcome in the gang.

When he got home, his parents were waiting for him. One of Josh's "friends" had blabbed to his parents that Josh was a mutant, and they in turn called the Foleys to inform them of the bad news... Josh was grounded and disowned verbally by his parents. They said they wanted nothing to do with him anymore because he was one of them. It didn't take long for Josh's parents to stumble across the Xavier Institute, and they promptly shipped their failure of a son away along with the legal documents to legally pass over guardianship of their son to the school. They were done with him and would have to move to a new city in a new state to rebuild their life since they were ruined now, having brought a mutant into the world.

At first Josh made friends easily, but when his past anti-mutant gang involvement came out, most of his classmates became suspicious of him. Some were even afraid that he might hurt them. But thankfully, most everyone came to like Josh Foley in time, and he even earned the position of second-in-command in the Excalibur Training Squadron.

Regretfully, Josh was slain by Professor Xavier's sister, Cassandra Nova, who had prevented Josh from healing his teammates that she massacred on 9/11.
